- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glazing)
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a doughnut cutter, cut out doughnut shapes and carefully place them in the hot oil.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, dip the doughnuts in powdered sugar for glazing.
Notes
- For a chocolate glaze, mix cocoa powder into the powdered sugar and add enough milk to achieve desired consistency.
- Try adding sprinkles on top of the glaze for extra fun!
