  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery ribs, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey and season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add the chopped vegetables and broth.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Let it rest for 30 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can stuff the turkey with herbs or citrus.
  • Make sure to baste the turkey every 30 minutes for a golden skin.
