Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until well combined.
  6. Spread half of the batter evenly into a greased baking pan.
  7. Spread the cherry pie filling over the batter.
  8. Dollop the remaining batter over the cherry filling.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
