  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup crumb topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  6. If using, sprinkle crumb topping over each muffin.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
